Children On Xbox Live

So I was playing COD 4 last night with Turmoil, and he's getting his usual bajillion kills (yes I made that word up) because he rocks, while I'm somewhere in the middle of the pack and dropping, and I hear a high, piercing voice stab my ear drum. This kid could not have been older than maybe 6, 7 or 8 and he's jabbering away, very cute, talking about his 'kills'. Of course no one else in the room is watching their language around him. Next thing I know they jokingly trash talk him. In response, you would not believe the filth that came out of this little boy's mouth!

Bill

I saw an odd site in the kitchen window one day--a squirrel hanging upside and eating out of my birdfeeder.  Now I've seen lots of squirrels do all sorts of acrobatics to get to the birdseed, but this trick was definitely a first.  I filmed this and put some music to it - enjoy.

Promotion

About ninety percent of the job of an illustrator is self-promotion.  Thankfully the last couple of years I have agents who do that for me in exchange for cuts from my pay.  Usually the agency has about 30 other artists they represent, so once in a while I'll send out my own postcard in addition to their promotion efforts to try to stand out from the pack.  Here's my recent fall postcard - 500 of them will make their way to various publishers all around the globe.

Hope To Be An Author/Illustrator

This is for a picture book manuscript I wrote and illustrated and hope to get published (fingers crossed).  It's tough out there, wish me luck :D

Recent Project

Colored pencil and watercolors on watercolor paper

The client wanted a colored sample of the main characters of an upcoming book. Since this image isn't going to be in the actual book, I can post this without breaking any copyright laws.

Other neat things I've gotten to draw for dough : aliens, bugs, space ships, pirates, tigers, bears and lots and lots of kids.

It's kind of a rainy dreary day in Virginia today.  But if there were ever a perfect day to draw....
