Mum Update and B**tard Hackers

So, we went though to see my mum last night, and she's in decent shape for now. Her doctors really don't sound like they're got a bloody clue what's wrong with her. They're sure that her Gall Bladder will need to be removed, but they're also sure that it's not the Gall Bladder which is causing her nausea and vomiting, difficulty swallowing and apparent blood loss. They are also sure that whatever is wrong is quite serious, but they just don't seem to know what it is.

My mum isn't well

So, my mum is pretty sick. For as long as I can remember, she was always really heavy, to the point of being diagnosed morbidly obese. Then, two or three years ago, she had a gastric band fitted.

You might know what that is, but if you don't, essentially it's a band that is surgically fitted around your stomach, which prevents overeating. Despite a few hiccups with my mum's post-op treatment (thanks a lot NHS and your post-treatment infections) things went fine, and she's lost pretty much all of the weight she's wanted to.

Relax, I'm still here

Yes, I'm still here, you may stop bombarding my Inbox with requests, nay - demands, for my return. Honestly, if I get one more PM about when I'll post next, I'll have...one...

As per usual, there's no real reason for the gap aside from my stubborn lazy streak, I'm not even going to bother trying to think of a decent lie. I'm too lazy you see.

"Find out what it means to me..."

Please raise you glasses and bid Tara a fond farewell. Sadly, she feels unable to continue blogging on 2old2play, and I don't blame her. I guess she's had enough of people being rude and disrepspectufl towards her, or taking her words and using them to make snap judgements about her. I've never spoken with her, or even commented on her blog an awful lot, but I was a regular reader, and not only will it be sad to see her go for that reason, but it's sad to see anyone feel no longer welcome in a community that they've been a member of for over a year.

Warning - More Domestication!

Just a quickie (fnarr).

Spent a 'thrilling' weekend repainting the living room and kitchen in preparation for the new laminate arriving. Looks good - the back wall is a deep red colour now, matching our couch, curtains and the rug we'll have down once it's been cleaned and the flooring fitted, the other walls are a light magnolia colour. The paint needs some tidying - to be done tonight.
