Old man winter, please don't leave me!

Like everyone else, my job has some advantages and disadvantages. One of the disadvantages is that when it's nice outside, we're busy and working more days and longer hours. Most of the year we are here Monday through Friday from 6am - 5pm, then from 6am - noon on Saturdays. During the winter (approx Dec 1 to April 1) we cut back to being open from 7am til 4pm, and we close on Saturdays.

Friday's Words of Wisdom

I actually stole this from a friend (Eman63), who posted it on another board.

Achievements - Has the way we play been changed forever?

I do believe mine has. I've always been a "dabbler". I'd pick up a game and continue to play it as long as it remained fun. If it got ridiculously frustrating, I'd move on to the next one with no remorse about not finishing it. The MS achievements have seemed to have somewhat of an impact on that. These days I find myself playing longer, and digging deeper and deeper into games just to gain those coveted gamer points. Why? What good are they other than "nerd cred"? Nothing that I can think of. It's simply another challenge to be met.

The bad news never seems to stop

It seems like there's something terrible happening around here more and more frequently. Not long ago there was a house fire that killed 6 kids and 1 adult. Then just last night one teen was killed and another badly injured in a car accident. The two girls not only went to school together, but actually knew each other. I know the parents of both girls and I can't possibly imagine what they must be going through right now.
