It's the beginning of pothole season

There's always one thing that tells me spring has sprung. Nope, not green grass or warmer temperatures....it's the damn potholes! Being in the concrete industry, I've learned allot about the causes of these little monsters over the years. Here's a brief summary....The largest contributing factor in pothole creation is freeze-thaw cycles. The resulting water from melt-off of snow & ice seeps beneath the pavement through cracks caused by the wear and tear of traffic.

It's the little things that kids seem to love the most

You know, there have been times that I've dropped thousands of dollars on my kids for large items...four wheelers, motorcycles, go-karts, etc. and things like that are forgotten pretty quick. I mean, they appreciate them, but it's not something they will always remember and talk about. I've found that it's the little things that they remember....and it's the little things that make you their hero.

What is Neurofibromatosis?

Usually when I mention that my daughter has NF, the common resposne is "What's that?". The fact that the disease is not well known is surprising when you consider the fact that the most common type of NF occurs in 1:3500 births. It is a genetic disorder that is often confused with Elephant Mans disease because of the visual similarities.

Are we ready for cross-platform gaming?

Well, registration for the Windows Live beta are now open, which means that some will be getting the first glimpse into cross-platform gaming. What this means is that those playing on a PC will now be playing with console gamers across Windows Live. 99% of the console gamers that I have talked to about this issue are vehemently opposed to the notion. Playing shooters is challenging enough without having to deal with the speed of a mouse...point, click, boom...headshot.

Give R6:V a fair shake before giving up on it !!

I've seen numerous posts about people ready to give up on R6:V. While it is possible that not everyone will like it (I friggin detest GRAW while most like it), make sure you give it an ALL AROUND trial before getting rid of it!!!!! The single player is rough at first, there's no two ways about it. But the last thing you want to do is trade this baby off before giving it a full test drive because EVERYTHING else that the game offers is frickin sweet!! I'm suggesting a method of getting used to the game that REALLY worked well for me.
