Step moms

I was talking with Dastard yesterday about the youngest stepson and his lack of friends in our area.  His older brother is more fortunate in having a some kids he knew before he moved away.  The youngest wasn't old enough to maintain any friendships from back then.  On short visits this is not a big issue since the boys spend a lot of time with us.  But on the longer visits the oldest likes to have his buddies over for some Halo 2 goodness and therein lies the situation.  Older brother with friends with a younger brother who wants to play too.  Inevitably tempers flare and feelings are hurt.

Thursday did start the weekend!

Well, okay, it was actually Friday.  We were busy getting ready for a garage sale with the rest of the neighborhood on Saturday.  We had some computer monitors, clothes, some kitchen things electronics, etc.  Saturday was a good day.  We were able to sell a lot of things (junk) and ended up taking everything else to the Goodwill that afternoon.  There was really good traffic through the neighborhood which helped tremendously.  SilverDragon, I looked over everything and the only thing we had you might have been interested in is an old oiler.  But, we really weren't sure that was what it was.  A

Thursday starts the weekend!

Oh, wait, that can't be right.  Nope, was dreamin, sadly.  I was traveling yesterday to finish and assignment and had a couple of interesting experiences.  First off, I'm driving along and make the second to the last turn on the road to my destination and am flagged down by a person in a jeep cherokee-like vehicle.  So, I stop and lower my window.  He asks me if I'm lost.  No, I assured him I wasn't.  (I had been down this road numerous time in the past two weeks during this particular assignment).  So, I raise the window and continue on.  My Spidey sense is tingling and so I pay particular at

Be very afraid

"Fascist ethics begin ... with the acknowledgment that it is not the individual who confers a meaning upon society, but it is, instead, the existence of a human society which determines the human character of the individual. According to Fascism, a true, a great spiritual life cannot take place unless the State has risen to a position of pre-eminence in the world of man.
