Jinxing myself

I have been hearing that someone I interviewed with has been digging into my past with a clear motive. I am actually quite excited about this show of interest. It is not what I’d call my ideal job, but it is working much closer with the federal government, and involves actual accounting work (something that has been lacking in all of my jobs since I started working here).  Also, it is a job where my job description can’t be summarized as “monkey with a hammer”. So, still keeping my fingers crossed.

Rejection as a standard

Yes, I have been denied again and again.  After a stretch of being offered every job I applied for, I have entered what I can only call a slump….0 for 27. I heard about one position that had me as one of their top picks, but ended up going with option #2 (not me), but for some reason this last one hurt me more than any in the past. It doesn’t surprise me, it was just a position that I really wanted to get.   Now I have been having a gradual improvement of mood outside of work, but as soon as I walk through those office doors, I die inside.

Such a good weekend.

Having a 4 day weekend is like having an awesome sammich, the more you like it the faster it disappears.
