Shared on Fri, 07/30/2010 - 13:06I've never been a huge fan of Doctor Who, though I appreciate the impact its had on science fiction in general. I think part of the problem, at least for me, is the idea of different actors portraying the same character. I think it's a more common practice in the UK (James Bond, anyone?) and it's central to the premise to the show, but it was hard for me to imagine anyone but Tom Baker in the role for the longest time.
Even though I grew up seeing Baker in the role I have recently had to acknowledge that he has been replaced, in my mind, as the best Doctor. David Tennant, the tenth Doctor, gets my nod at this point. I got interested in the series again in 2005 when Christopher Eccleston reprised the role as the 9th doctor, but I never quite got into it. It just clicked a bit more for me after Tennant took over.
Anyway, thoughts? Who's the greatest Who?
