Call me a liar

In the blog below, I outlined how the language nanny in Forza 4 deemed simple language as inappropriate. I can add one more. If you call a tune "basic D" as in a D class car with a very basic, inexpensive build, the game deems it inappropriate. Maybe they think we're talking about bras instead of cars. I dunno.

But I digress, as usual. In my conclusions, I figured environmentally friendly vehicles such as the Nissan LEAF and Chevy Volt will not be in the upcoming version, due out this fall. Well so far I'm only batting 500 - usually pretty good unless you've only been to bat twice.

Turn 10 studios announced many upcoming cars this week. Among them, the 69 Olds 442, 57 Ford T-bird, 64 Chevy Impala 409, 77 Aston Martin Vantage and 88 Mitsubishi Starion. All, and a few others, will be brand new to the game. Also among them was the 2011 Nissan LEAF.

To heck with the tire-shredding Hurst Olds or a newer Team Risi Ferrari. Wow. A LEAF! Can't wait to add a roll cage and bigger tires, putting further strain on the all-electric powertrain. Imagine the commutators spinning madly as it strains to make 107 hp. With that complete lack of exhaust tone, the other cars won't even hear you as they go flying by. Can't wait.

Mind you, if I know the guys at Turn 10, you'll be able to pull that oversized hair dryer motor. Likely replacements would be from the like of Nissan's Silvia, Skyline or even full-breed race cars. Try doing that in Gran Turismo's Toyota Prius. Still, given the rest of the cars in the game, the LEAF does seem to be a pretty weird choice. Hopefully just weird enough to make it interesting.

Language nanny...lol! Oddly enough Turn 10 also filters out the word Metallica. BTW...you are the only person on earth excited about the Nissan Leaf in Forza...just thought you should know... Jones

How do you tune an electric motor?

@ Sarcasmo: Not excited. Just accepting. @ Buckeye: there's not much. Changing magnetos and rewinding the commutator will spin it faster but draw more charge. That's about all I know, but I'm no electrical engineer. Just someone who used to play with RC cars a lot. :-)

By the way, I would expect someone names Sarcasmo would recognize sarcasm. :-)

Sarcasm doesn't translate well into type...I've petitioned Bill Gates for a special sarcasm font. So much of it is body language and verbal tone that it often masquerades as sincerity in written form Until then I guess I'll just have to take your word for it... Leaf lover.
