"Gangsta"-Rap SUCKS.

Notice I didn't say Rap music sucks. I like a lot of rap. the beats are awesome. I have a large sub-woofer box in the back of my 1988 Ford Bronco with a pair of Polk 10"s driven by a Rockford-Fosgate amp that rattle windows. Not all Urban street music qualifies as "Gangsta" either. Just because a song has lyric that mention gangs does not make it a "gangsta" title in my view. Black and Latin urban life is heavily effected by gang activity on a lot of levels so it only makes sense that it would have an impact. Nope, RAP doesn't suck.

What I call "Gangsta" is any music that promotes gangs, gang lifestyles, "gangsta" attitude, etc.

Here in a nutshell is a "Gangsta"Rap song in Cliff-notes.

"I gotsa big dick, I stick it in a HO. I drink a lot of malt-liqour. I shoots my gat at everybody else. how do you like my car. Peace-out Yo and even more YO"

There. That about sums it up. More brain power goes into a bowel movement.

The only thing worse is Neo-Nazi metal but at least the white-power dumbasses don't usually claim to be anything else than what it is.

If there is any one thing that minorities should be rising up against it is 'Gangsta' music. Nothing does more damage to minority culture. nothing has as much a negative impact on race relations. Nothing perpetuates racism as much. Nothing degrades the value of women and families as much.

That form of music is more exploitative than the Korean owned liqour stores and cracker gun-shops that seem to sprout up like plague in urban neighborhoods. It is a blight on minorities and everything they represent. the only thing that it does is make a bunch of executives rich and a bunch of middle class white kids feel 'cool'. But, no matter how many little white kids buy their albums those white kids aren't going to grow up with a deeper understanding or sympathy for urban plight. All they will do is grow out of that particular rebellious phase and think just as poorly of urban life as the very worst red-neck.
