"It's not fair"... and other stupid phrases.

It seems more and more people allow themselves to get caught up in phrases that allow them to exploit convenient excuses.

"It's not fair".

Used to point out the obvious and to also make up for the speakers inadequacies. "It's not fair", no shit. Really? Just figure that out did you? Good, now maybe you can overcome that lump of shit in your head and start making something of yourself...

... but probably not.

Not to sound,.... well, okay like myself... but fair is for the weak. I wish to point out that the Lord said, "The meek shall inherit the Earth" not "The intellectually deficient and jelly-headed will inherit the Earth". I always got the feeling that God wanted us to take that free-will he tossed on us and run with it. You know, be fruitful. Meekness is not weakness. To be meek is to be reserved and considerate. Those who do not try and force others to submit will inherit the Earth. See, God doesn't hate anything (except sin) but I'll bet the almighty may have a few choice words for the douche-bags running around.

"I don't know".

Used to replace the far more accurate, "I'm too ignorant to figure it out" or the ever popular, "I'm too lazy to take the effort to look it up". I swear to all that is holy that if one more piss-brained teenager says to me, "I don't know", I will seriously consider an attempt at strangling intelligence into them,

"I'm bored".

Used to try and convince someone far more interesting than you are to take a little extra effort to entertain you. I mean, why should you make any effort to entertain someone when you obviously lack any useful skill to do so. If you had any intellectual capacity you could be entertaining yourself with your imagination. You could possibly use something called "creativity" or, God forbid, take up an intellectual pursuit aimed at improving yourself.

I have a feeling (a rather depressing one actually) that my highly anticipated "Zombie Apocalypse" is a statistical impossibility. You see, a dominant predator needs a readily available food supply. I'm afraid that the preferred cuisine of the undead is getting more and more scarce.

"What about me"!

What the fuck about you? The most hateful thing hippies ever did was come up with the ego-centric philosophy of "the self". After all, you can't take care of others until you take care of you...

..What a bunch of self-serving horseshit. Try it. Maybe if you considered the feelings of others first instead of only concerning yourself with, well... yourself.. then maybe, just maybe the world wouldn't be near as shitty.

Of course , I'm being a little exaggerative. Yes, you need to be in a healthy state of mind and body to be of any use to others you intend to take care of. However, the original intent has been lost to the dustbin of selfish fucktardism.  Anytime I walk through a gym and see some Ken or Barbie preening in the HUGE fuck-all mirrors lining the place, it makes me want to walk up behind them and shove their faces through the glass. Extreme, yes. But, at least maybe the horrendous scarring will force them to care maybe a little less about their needs and begin thinking of others. Okay, probably not but some of you have to admit that you would be standing right next to me saying, "Go ahead, nobody will care".

"I'm on a journey"...

..No you aren't. Are you on a boat? An airplane perhaps? Are you on an adventure holiday taking copious photos? If yes, THEN you are on a journey. If you are making an effort at self-discovery to unlock your potential then you are in therapy / counseling.

I'll admit, my only real problem with this phrase is it's over-use. Case in point, the show "The Biggest Loser". Now, I have a lot of respect for that show but I don't think I can take hearing about "the journey" they're on any longer. Don't the writers of that show have a thesaurus? Couldn't they come up with a different term to use?

By the way, yes I worked this weekend. So, all of this hate is due to having to converse with the socially inept.

For the rest of you, peace brothers and sisters, for the end is nigh.

Seriously, I could never do your job. Dealing with shitheads all day AND carrying a firearm. Working retail with the general public is hard enough for me not to commit a mercy kill.

Spot on. Thanks for the laugh.

The biggest thing I've tried to intill into my twins heads is that you CAn do anything you want. BUT, realize, it's a decision, whatever you do, and YOU are responsible for that decision, and the ensuing consequences.

It's a battle, but I think I'm just about ready to call it a successful project...
