Shared on Mon, 12/18/2006 - 14:14I just picked up a web programming contract, a side project of side projects of sorts. However, this project is a bit different because I get to try my hand at working in a group known as Media Crumb - run by Mr. DoodiRock himself.
Yep, that's right, Doodi and I are teaming up to conquer a web project for a fairly high end customer. During our conference call we explained what we're about and they seemed fairly impressed. We knew the answers to their questions, we hit the target on the demands they want and we did the entire conference call without referencing each other as "doodi" and "code" - that's the hardest part.
Writing code is cake compared to not calling him Doodi in a professional setting. So wish us luck on our adventure which will keep us busy for January to hit are target dates and give them something to go live with in February.
And for those on my 2o2p Writers list - I told you I'd have some content to write about a few days ago and I slacked off (ok, I decorated the house, got the Christmas tree and did some holiday shopping). I'm working on it, I'll try to get that out this afternoon if no big news arrives for the site.
How else can I keep myself completely busy so I have no time for gaming? My wife and I are considering starting up a podcast for our gaming store to help seperate us from the rest of the retail stores.
We're still kicking around ideas for the content. We don't want just "news" because everyone has that - you can subscribe to 10 tech/game podcasts and here the same stories all day long. We want a few segments, a short thing on news, new releases for games, tech talk or something, etc. We can use this opportunity to pimp our website, draw in listeners that may never have found our website and perhaps boost sales or remind other customers about us. Hopefully do some giveaways and such with our own sponsorship (ya don't have to pay to advertise yourself).
If anyone has any ideas on what might make a nice simple podcast and is missing from the podcasting industry, let me know. I'm currently thinking a 20 to 25 minute podcast twice a week.
