This may not seem like a big deal to many but for any kid growing up in Canada, hockey is BIG. During the pre-game cerimonies as we watched the thousand plus names who proudly wore the Canadiens jersey over the last 100 years, I found myself fondly remembering the first game my dad ever took me to. I looked for the names of the heroes back then..Lafleur, Dryden, Robinson, Shutt, Savard, Lapointe, and others. Never has such a place made the distant past seem so near and never has a place made me feel so close to my son. Here is hoping that in 20 - 30 years, he can experience the same with his child.
