Clans Cleaned

I gave people some extra time this weekend to get back to me in order to save some clans but it looks like its time to press the nuke button. As I said in my last blog, I will more then likely move clans into the trash area where 1 person just posted to keep it alive. Clans like that don't seem like they are serving a purpose and will just add to the clutter once V3 gets rolled out.

Also, if you didn't notice clans are currently ATM sorted by post count now. I don't want clans to think that posting more will rank them higher so I will more then likely change this before V3. It's possible I will just rank by size where clans with the least amount of people will show up first. This helps small clans with recruiting and more exposure as large clans tend to become insulated and withdrawn anyway.

In fact one of the big problems with clans in general is that people post threads in clans forums that could EASILY be sent to the main forums and spark better conversation among the community as a whole. I'm hoping that in the future we can work with clan leaders to help manage the flow of infomation and use the site more over all. The idea of 2o2p being a network of older gamers becomes stifled when that network doesn't actually network anymore. My plans are to create more of a "council" of clan leaders who help to shape the way 2o2p is designed and run. I'm thinking more along the lines of "uber moderators" who instead of police work to engage and direct the community and its content.
