OMG NO MORE THUMBS DOWN!
As if you didn't notice, I removed the ability to see thumb ranks on your own blogs. While some think this sucks (most notably those who like to thumbs down or up randomly) the reason for doing this has nothing to do with someones feelings about witnessing a -1 on their blog. The fact of the matter is, a blog on this or any site shouldn't have to be about a feature that someone likes or dislikes. It is distracting to writers and readers and serves absolutely no purpose to the community.
It was tiring, boring, and pointless to see blog after blog specifically being written about thumbs. Then as if to go further in an already deep subject (omg sarcasm) we had to read the bitching and moaning in the comments section as well. In reality, the number does nothing but ego boast or make people sad pandas. Originally it was to be used to help people understand what people enjoyed reading or what they hated. The truth is, it did nothing to change perceptive on content and only created idiocy around the site.
It now serves a much better purpose of internally tracking content so that we can see the blogs that members enjoy. This makes it easy for us to track blogs for the homepage or spam that needs to be deleted. As a popularity tool, the thumbs are no more. In the end this works out fine since views have really always been the best way to track who is reading what in the first place. So no, you will no longer be able to show how bad ass you are by thumbing people down (take that establishment) and no you can no longer judge you cock size by the number of thumbs up you have. You just may have to actually be badass in real life now. I know its scary, but I'll hold your hand through these troubling times.
