Everything seemed to go as planned, but when I rebooted I got a memory failure screen and had to shut down. No worries I thought, I'll just go back to the old 2 gigs and live with what I already had. Right? Wrong. I booted back into Vista and all I got was a black screen. Nothing more. No error, no failure, no reboot, just black. At least when XP dies you KNOW shit is going wrong. Blue Screens of death litter your screen and the impending doom of white text on blue backgrounds lets you know your time is up.
So 6 hours later of searching for fixes I'm finally off to the store to buy a new hard drive, new ram, and reinstall vista. As many people know this is an all day event just to get back to the beginning of where you were. Then comes the fun part of trying to salvage everything you had (which between clients and 2o2p is A LOT) and get it to the new install. I'm finally back up with this XP install and wondering if I should even bother going back. In short, Vista sucks. But you already knew that.
