PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - A Pennsylvania man who shot and wounded a police officer more than 41 years ago will stand trial for his murder following the officer's death last year, a judge ruled on Wednesday.

Prosecutors say the victim, Walter Barclay, died of injuries directly linked to the 1966 shooting.

There isn't a statute of limitations when it comes to murder. That's why he's going to stand trial.

Sounds reasonable to me.

And I don't think it is murder...not 41 years later, not after already serving time for the shooting, not after the old man has lived through two car accidents, not after 41 years!! A UTI killed him, not a bullet...and really, at 64 years old, that's probably not so rare.

41 years later. Sorry, but the guy already served 20 years for the initial assault. This really reeks of double-jeopardy.

I care... In my opinion, justice has been served already. This happened 41 years ago, the man who did it is now in his 70's, he served time for the crime as it was committed, not what some over zealous prosecutor is trying to make it out to be.
