Being unemployed SUCKS!

I've now been unemployed for three weeks or so...and it sucks ass. I have been on countless interviews, rewritten my resume more than a few times, I'm signed up with every fucking job service, temp agency and check the damn job listings on every site I can think of every day...and nothing. I know I'm not doing anything wrong...there just isn't that much out there. On Missouri Works, one of the sites I check, there was only 10 or so job listings within 30 fucking miles posted today. 10. My CareerBuilder notifications amounted to six. Most of those are work from home scams. Fucking craptastic.

I am going crazy not working. Too much time to think, too much time to worry, too much time to go crazy. It's a blast.....and I just wanted to complain a bit.

I can't wait for Vegas....62 days and counting.

I feel for you. I'm on day 28 now of no work. It's f'ing horrible. Though I finally landed a job. Which the pay is almost half of my normal salary. But it is work, and it'll help pay the bills.

I'm sorry to hear about both of you and wish you all the luck. It is beginning to sound like we are going to avoid layoffs here (fingers crossed) so I have been lucky, but a lot of people are feeling the pain. And we still love you Durty!

I feel for you with being unemployed. Have you considered just taking a random job (dept. store, fast food, etc.) to keep you entertained while searching for something in your field?

I'd suggest grocery stores...everyday I see at least 5 people looking to get a cashier job. You might even try meat department...I'm sure they could always use eye candy while they cut and you wrap!

I've been out of work myself for quite some time now, after getting seriously injured on the job, still fighting the bastards in the courts. I've practically done just about every single thing you've mentioned as well, I must have 8 different versions of my resume made up, cause either I'm over qualified (I F@#$ING LOVE THAT COMMENT) or some other nonsense. I do have one sugestion that might actually be something that might interest you, just recently the local news station in my area listed companies that are legit to work from home, here's the list: 1) Convergys 2) Arise 3) Alpine Access 4) Working Solutions 5) Speakwrite Maybe that may help you out, good luck with finding work, take it from someone that understands completely what your going through when I say it sucks, but keep your head up, and don't lose faith.

Not to make you feel bad, hopefully better..... My dad was laid off from his Windows/Doors installer not quite 2 years ago. Some months later found work in a factory doing CNC work. February...laid off once again. He has been laid off 6 times in his 60+ years of work. Sadly, due to his skill set (factory work) his jobs are getting harder and harder to find. My aunt who worked with a company for 40 years was laid off and has spent the last 2 years with craptacular jobs that are more part time than full time. She is still looking. Again, she has only one set of office skills w/out a degree and finding a hard time finding a job even close to what she had. I guess, what I'm trying to say, is that you are still young (I firmly believe that employees DO discriminate against age) and you have skills that are befitting the technology era. Times are just slow right now. You WILL find a job. It WILL work out. If you ever wanna rant just invite me to an XBL party and we can chat, or just go kill some timmys...I will however have to put in Halo which is like pulling teeth around here, but I can be coerced. Keep your chin up gal, it will get better.

Thank you everyone. I know it's not easy right now to find work at all, for anyone....but it doesn't make it any easier to know that either, lol. Garfy...I applied for 3 of those, lol....I'll let you know if any of them turn out. Madwoman....Halo is the shiznit girl!! :P And thank you...I know I will find something...but the last year and a half of looking is driving me insane. Sure, I've had a few jobs here and there but none of them have lasted because everyone keeps going out of business! Acccck! Much love to you peoples! Mwah

over a year now for me, and I don't understand how those companies can afford to advertise so much in our local paper, the "work from home" shit gets so annoying to wade through.
