So far my MLK holiday has been a success:

1. wake up whenever I want... check

2. play xbox until I feel like making breakfast.... check

3. make the most awesome french toast in the history of the planet (with homemade lemon bread)...check

4. have both cats on my lap while reading.... check

5. make macaroons... check (technically they're still in the oven, so give that one a half check)

6. buy ticket from Naples to Athens... check. :) My best friend is wonderful. When I come to visit her in Italy, since I'm staying a week almost, we're off the Athens for two days. I love Europe! Everything is so close!

7. mop bathroom and kitchen floors... on the to-do list

8. organize China photos into albums...on the list

9. Eat macaroons and play more Skyrim... on the list.

Today is awesome. Then Matt comes over and it gets a whole lot better. :) <3

Macaroons are officially a success. They are filled with coffee cream. Not quite the same texture as Laduree's macaroons but they're still good.

Athens is awesome... when are you going? Naples, not so much. It's a stinky town thanks to the active sulfer pits.

March, for spring break. My best friend's husband got stationed there early last year and I'm coming to Naples to see her (otherwise I'd have chosen Rome and Venice). Actually, Rome is just an hour by car from her house. Maybe we'll go there for a day trip. And I'm intrigued by this sulfur smell.

Yeah, Rome is awesome as well. A bunch of us that were stationed in Crete, Greece, had to pass through Naples on the way back from an exercise, but ended up getting stuck there for a week. We did Rome in a day... missed a few things, but you should be able to see a good chunk of it in a day. Don't be intrigued by the smell... rotten eggs. I'd be wary of driving to and in Rome... Italian drivers are frigging crazy... Dallas drivers can't compare.
