Magic: The Gathering update and others

I tried the new Magic edition... can't see how it's much different than The Gathering yet, but then I was playing it at an obscene hour of the night and sitting so far back from the screen I literally couldn't read the words on it. I beat the tutorial level (who doesn't) but lost interest in it. I like The Gathering well enough to just play that rather than DL the new one, but if anyone can convince me otherwise, let's hear it.

I tried Kung Fu Panda-- it came with the Lego Indiana Jones game I got at a discount store. Surprisingly, I liked the Kung Fu Panda more than the Indiana Jones!! It's cute, artful, has plenty of button mashing action and is easy. Ok, it's a little too easy but still I like the variety of ways you can interact in the game. Lots of game play modes that are built into the story.

I was really hoping the creators of Limbo would release something this summer (Limbo 2 would be an excellent idea) but I haven't seen anything. I may have to actually finish Red Ded Redemption this summer. I am going back to Bio Shock 2 and going to try for the achievements- that is one of the few games that I played entirely for the story line rather than achievements.

Travel news: just booked my tickets to Italy in October. Gotta go see my BFF. She called me this weekend and we worked out some semi-soft details, and then she called me this morning in tears, just overwrought with the stress of being a military wife. I'm trying to get her to agree to let me take Matt, but I get thie feeling she'd rather it was just me. Additionally, I just booked this coming weekend to Key West to meet a friend out there. Each year my friend from London and I (we met at university in the study abroad program) meet up either in London or somewhere in the States and then take a trip together. She's been in Memphis and Atlanta all week and is heading down to Florida now so I'm joining her next weekend for some fun in the sun. No boys allowed, just us girls. It should be nice! I actually have a tan this year (such a nice change from toothpaste white skin). Best news of all: I came home from China literally 10 lbs lighter than when I left. Either that or my scale was really off. I weighed in at Matt's clinic on the official scale and was very pleased I'd dropped some weight.

Now I'm off to the pool. Ahhhh summer.
