Snow day x3, RDR Undead, DeathSpank...

So Texas almost never has these apocalyptic snow storms (ok ice storms) that we've experienced this week. I've been home for two days, no school, and tomorrow has been cancelled as well! Trust me, I'm not complaining, but I'm getting a little tired of not having the ability to hop in my car and see my BF, hang out with friends, shop for groceries, etc.

I hesitate to say it but... there's only so much XBOX I can take in three days. I'm playing RDR Undead and it pissed me off so badly I just about cried. I know, nut up. Finally I agreed to have a glass of wine and calm down. I hate failure. 30 min later I was back at it and doing fairly well. I think it's because I reconciled myself with the idea that the guns and the way the characters move are nowhere near as good as on Borderlands and I'd just have to get used to it. Currently hunting for a sasquatch to kill. Weird.

So far, being stranded at home, I've baked cupcakes, cookies, made homemade pasta, baked a loaf of Shiner beer bread (that was tasty), and even did some laundry. I think tomorrow I may actually begin working on my taxes. I feel like I *could* be all kinds of productive, but the seductive glow of the TV entices me back to warm couch where I can snuggle up with my two cats under an electric blanket. :) I can even use my XBOX controller under the covers and keep my fingers warm. It's too tempting. In fact, as I type this, my fingers have gotten colder and colder. It's not like I don't have my heat on. It's just that I'm so close to the window I guess. Very cold anywhere near windows and doors. I feel bad for those of you up in the NE where all the major stuff is happening. I'm sure my 15 degrees and a layer of ice doesn't sound all that bad to you.

I've been watching The Tudors on my Netflix via XBOX... good show, but not as sexy as I was hoping for. I finally finished watching Serenity (bless Joss Whedon- he rules), and a few British historical documentaries. Nerd alert. I love it! There are supposed to be rollig blackouts in  my area, hopefully it will give me a miss. I've been watching the facebook posts of my friends, and most have experienced a brief blackout period (or three) today. Fingers and toes crossed (mostly because they're cold).

I have nearly finished playing DeathSpank TOV and realized that I think I completely screwed up.... there was an item I was supposed to get from Rudolph (potential spoiler alert) and I think I got it but accidentally ground it up. I have done everything I can think of to find this item, and the character I need it from never respawned. I think I'm screwed and just have to play the game all the way through again. Sigggghhhhhh! Shouldn't devs make some sort of catch for stupid mistakes like this? Maybe a giant text box asking if I REALLY want to destroy that item? Oh well. It's not like I don't have time to begin again. LOL

Stay warm and safe if you're in one of these snowy places!

Hey everyone. I want to update you all on the status of this glitch with Roodolph's earmuffs in DeathSpank: TOV. First, I want to make it clear that at Hothead we take stuff like this very seriously. I know it probably looks like we have been dragging our feet or sticking our head in the sand hoping the bug would fix itself. Nothing could be further from the truth. Ever since we first heard about it we have been trying to recreate it locally and working on ways to solve the problem for the players who were unfortunate enough to get tripped up by it. We have explored a variety of solutions including manually fixing save files, creating a DLC patch that would modify the scripts to work around the problem, doing a full title update/patch, etc. All the way along we've stayed in communication with players that experienced the bug as well as with the folks at EA, Microsoft and Sony to come up with a viable fix or workaround. We would love to fix this with an update but we can't. Right now the solution on PS3 is for you to email us save files and we are fixing them manually. We have received a number of these so far and it seems to be working well. Luckily the number of people affected is less than 1% so we can keep managing to do this manual process and we appreciate your patience. Unfortunately on Xbox it now appears that none of the solutions we have come up with are going to work--we've exhausted every avenue. I want to reiterate that we accept full responsibility for this bug and would like to apologize to the players that experienced it. Our goal is to create great experiences for our fans and in this case it appears we have failed some of you. To all those affected, we're sorry.

Cats like xbox-controllers. When I play at my sister's, I can hardly get a good grip because the cats try to paw the sticks all the time. I noticed that they're less interested in the black controllers though... hmmmm... Anyway, that was related to background piccy. Before think I gone bonkers. Which isn't far from the truth anyhowz.
