Favorite Racing Game? Favorite Fighting Game?

Racing games and fighting games aren't my favorite genres but I would like to have at least one or two good ones of each on hand to play now and then. What is your favorite of each for either Xbox 360 or PS3? I've tried some via demos or loans from friends but am still open to new suggestions.

MotorStorm came with my PS3, and it seems good. I also like Test Drive Unlimited on the 360. I like DiRT on the 360 but the controls seem  a tad too sensitive for me. I didn't care for PS3 Ridge Racer. Those are all I've tried thus far. 

For fighters, I like the classic Mortal Kombat II and am awaiting Tekken 6.

I've been a big fan of Tekken since the first one. I didn't enjoy other fighting games such as Virtual Fighter. As for driving games, I love the Burnout series(haven't tried the new one tho) and the Midnight clubs (on the PS2) were fun.

I tried PS2 Soul Caliber II this week and liked it, especially the fact that it has the practice mode to learn the moves. It's hard to imagine playing on the Wii but it could be fun. I'm a wild button masher in fighting games. Does anyone have the new Wii version of this game?

Burnouts are fun because they just don't take themselves seriously. I have heard great things about Heavenly Sword...

I liked Forza but racing isn't my favorite.

Thanks for the suggestions. J-Cat, I actually have Heavenly Sword on order already. :-) I forgot, I did try Forza briefly and didn't care for it.
