College Football

Last Saturday was a beutiful day with clear blue skies and college football. I had an oportunity to go to the VA Tech v. East Carolina University game in Blacksburg and watch from the sidelines . ( thats my photo) I wouldn't classify myself as a rabid fan, I like football, played a little bit in high school, watch the Redskins when I can and sometime listen to a game on the radio if I'm on the road. I don't wear a team jersey or hat or have stickers on the car. I have tried playing Madden on the xbox, but I don't own any of the games.

One thing I can say is, the experience of being in a stadium of 80,0000 fans is pretty cool. Just before Tech's team comes onto the field, they crank Metallica's Enter Sandman over the PA and the team comes running out just as the song begins to kick in. The energy coming off the crowd is palpable. You can't help getting a little psyched as they're charging out onto the field with thousands of people roaring.

Being a VA boy, I had to take Tech over ECU. The first quater was rough with ECU clearly playing well and Tech just not firing on all cylinders. By half time, Tech had managed to score enough to keep it at least interesting.

Whatever happened in the locker room, Tech came out the second half and decided to play football. By the fourth quater, they were trouncing ECU and ended the game 49-27.

Great way to spend a Saturday.

P.S    Redskins lost on Sunday.
