I Really Tried,But...

I tried to like Homefront and there are parts of it I do like but overall, it just isn't working. I was willing to wait to see if the developer would fix the issues involving multiplayer but, even with the latest patch, it still has too many issues. I was playing last night and the longer I played, the less I enjoyed it  until I hit a point where I asked myself, Why? Why am I letting this game make me so angry? and then, that was it. I finished my last match, took it out of the xbox and put it back in its case. Done. I don't have any urge to play it again.

There were just too many issues. Last weekend, for some unknown reason, my level was reset to 1 but the weapon / game challenges remained. I began to rank up again and checking the Homefront forums, saw that the reset was not an isolated fluke. The other major issue was the lag. I can tell when I'm playing at  a red bar level of connection because you can't  kill anyone. I have shot at people and had two or even three hit marks and they were still killing me with one or two hits. I would look at the scoreboard and see almost everyone on my team at yellow bar or red bar connection and the other team almost entirely at green bar connection.  When I occasionally would get a yellow bar connection, the play noticeably improved. But that was the exception rather than the rule. Another probelm, snipers. If you are using the sniper class, all you have to do is sweep your scope reticle and if someone is in the sight, whether you can see them or not,  a big red ID tag pops up even if they are across the map. Cross map sniping just became ridiculous.

I am dissapointed, but lesson learned.  I think I will take it in today and try to trade it in for partial credit towards Portal 2.
