This was fine for the slow beginner songs, but when I was playing Rocksmith I quickly realized the benefit of learning to use a pick.
It took me 3 solid days of playing the same crappy songs over and over before I was able to play them as well with the pick as I can with my fingers.
On Rocksmith I saw myself go from 8,000 points on the Stones "Satisfaction" to nearly 40,000. I'm on the 3rd gig now (I think), but my progression has stalled a bit. Now I'm at a point where I really need to rehearse and practice a song to do well enough to perform it. I'm struggling on Nirvana's "In Bloom". This is the first song that really has me moving up and down the neck. Good thing I like the song. I'll probably have to play it 100 times before I can move on to the next gig.
My goal is to beat the game (that is qualify and play the gigs in the order they are presented). Once I go through the game, then I'll go back to the beginning and do it again. Even though I know it isn't really a game in the traditional sense, I'm going to treat it like one and see what happens.
