Shared on Wed, 05/23/2012 - 18:10I was injured at work April 3rd and have been on injured reserve ever since. I stepped off a ladder wrong nad that was the key to revealing a load of back issues. My MRI revealed that my back is a wonderland of issues. Funny thing is after a few treatments from my chiropractor I feel better than I ever have. Now I know that saying things bad about you job or company can get you in BIG trouble! So I will say only this, I can not belive how difficult the insurance company has been!
I have to say I dont see how people that just sit around and do nothing keep from going crazy. I so desperatly want to get back to work I can hardly stand it! I have definatly gaind a new respect for those who stay at home and watch thier kids or work from home. The lack of scenery change alone it dumbfounding. I imagine this is what it feels like to drown, no one around everything is quiet and you slowly slip away from yourself! I have had more time to think in the last few weeks than I really think I need.
Not that i havent found some things to occupy my time. I have been doing lots of reading. I started with the Hunger Games series, that took three days and have reread all the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter books as well as several other favorites. I have been a Red Box and Movie Trading Company feind. Plus I know Im late to the party but I have discovered The Big Bang Theory, damn its funny.
Hopefully I can get back to work sooner than latter. Im really going stir crazy!

I hear you. I was out for about a month with an ACL reconstruction. It sucked. I think mainly because I could barely move but I know I didn't handle it well. I kind of felt like this:

I had back surgery about 5 years ago and was 4 weeks off work. I thought it would be great I could watch DVDs and play games all day. I lasted about 2 weeks then started to go crazy. I used to sit on the balcony of my apartment all day watching people go past.
