Shared on Fri, 10/21/2011 - 11:59Every day this week has been about the same:
- 5:45 AM - Wake up
- 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM - Work my regular full time job
- 6:00 PM - Begin editing the 2old2play Pop Culture Series footage from Sunday, while making sure a 4 year old and 4 month old are dry, fed, and entertained
- 8:00 PM - Go through the night time routime with both kids
- 8:15 PM - Back to editing
- 11:30 PM - Shut down the NLE machine, feed the baby one last time and fall asleep
- 1:00 AM - Wake up next to a crying baby, feed and change the baby
- 4:00 AM - Wake up next to a crying baby again, more feeding and diaper changes, and then try to get an energetic baby to fall back asleep
- 5:00 AM - Finally fall back asleep
- 5:45 AM - Wake up and do it all again
The worst part of the work is done, though - all the footage is meticulously organized and synced, which drastically simplifies the rest of the editing process. For example I spent two full evenings editing the first interview (see below), whereas the second interview was edited in its entirety in about 45 minutes.
The final result is being released in short 10-15 minute chunks. Here is the first interview, including a short preview of some of the much bigger interviews we'll be releasing in the next 7 days:

You can check out my Youtube channel for the second interview.
If you haven't already done so, head over to Waterborn's blog and sign up for a chance to win a signed copy of the Serena and the RATTS DVD. I'll be ordering the DVD from their website when I can see, on the horizon, that I'll have enough free time to actually watch it.
Tonight, I am thinking of taking a break. I have another 90 minutes of interview footage to edit this weekend so after the kids fall asleep I will by drinking beers and playing the stack of video games I've been staring at for weeks now.
