So this week, I've been installing a couple different games to keep my occupied in that situation. The laptop isn't exactly a gaming rig though, so new games are out of the question.
I don't have a ton of hard drive space either so I can't install my whole library. Ironically though, the only games I'd want on there, are the ones I've already played the shit out of.
The games that made the cut:
Battlefield 2 - In greater Boston, it's not hard to find free WiFi. And there are very few multiplayer games out there better than BF2. In fact, I don't think I've played ANY 360 game online more than BF2. The game is a few years old, needs a ton of patches to run correctly, and still glitches a bit on Vista, but it's still a ton of fun.
The Sims 2 - Yes, another EA game. And arguably targeted at female gamers. But regardless of how many times I've played through this, it's so open-ended that I'll still keep going back to. I haven't picked up any of the really recent expansion packs but there's enough content in the basic game or the "university" pack to keep me busy for hours. But if I have 5 minutes free, I'll put somebody in an empty room without any doors and watch them lose their mind.
Half-Life 2 - Does it really need an explanation?
Dead Rising - It's not something I can install on my laptop, but it is one of those games that I can't get enough of. The game can be incredibly frustrating but nothing is more satisfying than mowing down hundreds of zombies with a car, lawnmover, chainsaw, park bench, or anything else you may find in a shopping mall.
City of Heroes - The game is very repetitive, which is why I even cancelled my subscription in the first place. But I keep on bringing her back into my life anyway - I met a lot of really good people playing the game, some of whom have also moved from the game to 2o2p, and some of whom are still playing.
I wouldn't exactly call this my "Top 5 List" but I play some of these games more than others that would make the top 5.
Do you have a similar game in mind? May be a few years old, may not be the highest rated game, but you still can't get enough?
