Gloucester Teens Had Pact To Get Pregnant
There's a stunning twist to the sudden rise in teen pregnancies at Gloucester High School. Seventeen students there are expecting and many of them became that way on purpose.
Time Magazine first reported that nearly half of the girls confessed to making a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together. None of them is older than 16.
Schools Superintendent Christopher Farmer told WBZ's Bill Shields Thursday the girls had "an agreement to get pregnant."
One of the fathers is a 24 year old homeless man. Works out well for him - not only did he get to nail an underage girl with no self esteem, he's also going to have a warm place to sleep for a while when he goes to jail for rape!
I'm only 28 but I feel like an old man when I say this: when I was in high school, if one of my peers accidentally got pregnant it would turn the entire town upside down. Obviously this Gloucester thing isn't being dismissed as "normal" but for 17 girls to intentionally get knocked up, requires a completely different mindset than teens 10 or 12 years ago.
I have a son, and I think I'll stop now. I'm already losing some of my hair - if I was to have a daughter I'd lose the rest of it worrying about her and the people she's hanging out with.
Btw: HERE'S the rest of the article.
