The thread links to the "Why did I get banned" category at the Xbox forums. And there are pages and pages of funny stuff there. It's 98% Timmies saying they did nothing wrong, and the Xbox community moderators posting their nonsensical slogans, etc. which clearly explains the reason for their ban.
Then there's this guy. His name, Supertramp I, was changed because of complaints. Chances are he was on a killstreak and some Timmies got pissed because they were losing. But regardless, Xbox actually sided with the complainants and changed his name:
As he defines in his post, he created his name as homage to an arguably great band from the 70's. Let's face it, the name is nowhere near offensive. To anyone. Whether or not you like the band (or the Gym Class Heroes "remake" of Breakfast in America") you gotta admit, it's kind of ridiculous.
About 10 years ago, when I was in the radio industry, there was a band called "Fuck". I'm serious. The band name was, quite obviously, created with the intent of grabbing attention. And if somebody wanted to name their gamertag after that band I would absolutely side with M$ and the inevitable name change. But come on... Supertramp? Really?
