Ultimately I'd like to tie everything together so one of the ideas was to incorporate a "mafia" theme - briefcase full of cash as a door prize, etc.
Since my company is perhaps best known for work we do in the Boston courts, I thought of tying James "Whitey" Bulger into some of our promotional materials. I created a quick proof and passed it around the office but the question came up- how many people outside of the Boston area have ever heard of Whitey Bulger?
He's been on America's Most Wanted over a dozen times. He has been on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list for years. Jack Nicholson's character in The Departed was based on him. In spite of all that, he may not really be a household name.
I've asked a couple of people for their opinions but everyone around here has lived in the greater Boston area for at least a few years, and living around here is synonymous with knowing at least his name. I am not concerned if a couple people do not know who he is- if they ask an associate, it means they're talking about my company.
But if the name is too obscure that may hinder us. So let me know via the comment system if you recognize the mugshot, the name, or if you have no idea who this guy is. If I can get a couple responses I'm sure I can make a more informed decision to incorporate him into our campaign.
