I'm having to fight a battle I know I'll win...

But then why do I have to fight it at all? Because the Ex wants to throw her weight around.. Be my guest, you'll only dig yourself deeper you greedy ass bitch...

The Ex wants to claim one of the kids on her tax return, well according to the divorce decree, I'm their Conservator. According to Federal Law, they're my deductions for supporting them for the year, she left after 7 months (well kicked out really). But she wants to dance then let's dance. Just remember, in the end I'll be the one who wins. And you'll still have a sore asshole....

Again, I'm not the one saying this is what I want and will take because I'm entitled to it. This is not a fight with her I want to get into. But I'm being dragged into it because she can't see beyond her own needs. Can't understand I fought for custody because I can provide stability she cannot... I can provide the kids with the home they need. I know I came off as an arrogant asshole when I posted the blog, and I still may be. But I'm a dad with my kids interests in my mind and heart.

Kurupt...you're frustrated with the shit. I get that. And you need to vent (I did the same and often sounded like an asshole). The hardest thing for me to learn was when a friend told me "It takes two to fight". I argues and argues that she was the one doing this. I finally realized that I could pick which battles were important and (somewhat) control those I was dragged into. Even then it was horrible...9 years and 26 court orders (so far). One kid disowned by his mom and the other ready to leave her. People think I am 'winning', but there is no win. I have great kids but they have issues because of what they have been through. Dude, I don't have any magic, I'm just saying do everything in your power to keep the kids out of it, recognize that, batshit insane or not, she is their mom and they don't care about the $$ or the BS and they need her, and take a few lumps if you have to. 10 years out you WILL be better off. My kids have told me many times that, had I engaged their mom like she was going after me, had I defended myself by pointing out everything she was doing wrong they way she was potting me down, they wouldn't be having anything to do with me today either. Your kids need one sane parent, although two would be nice. I hope she reads this too and I hope you both find a way. And tits are AWESOME!

You two need to cut this shit out before you end up like me and my ex with close to $200k between us in attorneys fees, and couple of seriously fucked up kids, and 9 years and counting of grief. I'm sorry to be harsh, but just give her the fucking deduction and move on. It will cost you more in the end between the lawyers and the lost respect from your kids. Both of you need to take the high road and behave.

And dude...it ain't about winning. Neither of you will win this. Put your kids first in every decision. Be a role model for them. If your ex behaves, great. If don't, don't get dragged down with her. Sorry again. I don't know shit about you. But this really hits a nerve.

Bubba I understand your point, I do, and I've been trying to let it pass. But she's money hungry for her own personal gain, and the money I'm claiming on the taxes is going to pay the crap she didn't pay when she was here. To prove my point further, I had to sell my car to get the money to keep the electricity on and not get evicted from our home 2 days after.

Like I said, I don't know you and obviously don't know your situation. Ex's suck (both ways I'm told). I apologize again, but you are at a point in your life where you need to be a fuckin' saint. It sucks. I know. Keep in mind that if she reads what you post it's only going to fan the flames. Hang in there and keep the faith. It will end eventually. And you only win if you come out of it with your kids respect.

They aren't your deductions, they are your kids. Federal law does not mandate that just because they lived with you for 7 months that she can't claim them as a deduction, or that you can. They only thing she can't get is Earned Income Credit, she can still claim the child as a deduction though, two different things.

I read your blog wrong, sorry. If she lived there for 7 months, she has every right under federal tax code to claim Earned Income Credit, any other Child Tax Credits and claim the child as a deduction. Sorry to burst your bubble.
