For years people have been telling me I have a radio voice, few in that time have said I have a face for radio too. One lady said I should be doing those 1-900 numbers, she was an unemployed plumber (single) willing to relocate from Florida, really creepy shit right there. My friend Erin let me meet her parents a couple weeks ago, her father was a news anchor for a few decades with a local channel here in Dallas. For some reason when a professional tells you something, it carries a little more weight to it. He suggested I get my butt out there and try doing voice-over work. Thanks for the encouragement.
So after a nice gift from Erin (a USB mic) and several suggestions on how to get started from her and her family. I'm starting on a second job to see if this can help out. Erin has also offered to take me out to some local professional studios when the need arrises. She's been very supportive and encouraging to me, I thank you for that Erin. (BIG HUG)
My roommate is going to be my secretary in the way that I've been getting invitations to submit work almost constantly, being that I already have a full time job. She's going to help organize my time and weed thru the stuff she thinks I may not be able to do and make sure I meet the submission deadlines. She's heard my voice for 3+ years and all my accents and imitations. So she can certainly be objective in what work I can and can't do.She also helps keep this house in order and clean, and is trying to keep 4 kids in line while I'm in my room working. She has to put up with me for being a 6'8" tall asshole a lot of the time. I'm trying to be one less often( for I will always be an asshole, or so I'm told). She has a daunting task, and I sometimes think I don't thank her enough fo it. So I say thanks to you too Melissa, I appreciate all that you do for me and my family. (BIG WOOKIEE HUG).
I'm also a few weeks into going back to school online with the Art Institute, shooting for a degree in Graphic Design. And I have a lot of homework to do sometimes. My time is filled to the brim and sometimes I feel like I'm going out of my skull. Thanks to everyone whom puts up with that and helps relieve the pressure....
Thanks to Haley and Colby too for being as supportive as you are, I know it takes time away that you want me to spend with you, but in the end you'll see I'm doing it for us. Just remind me not to get lost in all the work that I'm doing....(REALLY BIG HUG)
I love and thank you all again from the bottom of my heart.
Matt
