OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE LAN COMETH!!!!
Yep, I am a little excited about the LAN…can you tell? LOL….So I have missed my CBW updates for the past 2 weeks…So below are going to be 2 weeks worth of Comic titles I picked up.
I started a new techie project…Well kind of sort of…My computer finally took a shit, so I ordered up a new one (Sorry fella’s my computer skillz are uber bad….plus my confidence in building one is overshadowed by my fear or spending a ton of money to create a very large paper weight…). When it comes to home theater stuff, Xbox stuff, etc., I am very confident in my abilities. I understand the wires, connections, hi-def, inputs, etc. In the case computer stuff, keep it the fuq away from me. But no longer my friends, I will be attempting to convert all of my nearly 400 DVDs into digital files and using my new (Dell XPS 420) as a media center to run my DVD collection through.
I intend once this project is completed to try and sell my DVDs on half.com and make back a few bucks to help cover what I am spending. Hopefully I will be able to sell them for about 3 bucks each…And I will also make a little more space downstairs so Teri will be happy about that, and the freaking minions will not be able to pull all my DVDs off the racks…HA HA take that spawn!!!!
So below are the details for my new comp:

Yes…I had them plant a tree for me…so STFU..LOL
Probably a lot of poop in there you do not need to know about but oh well. Yes I know VISTA…bleh…but it is home premium, so from what I have been told, I will be able to connect my 360’s via the built in windows media center, and then stream my movies to my TV out in the living room. I play primarily in my man cave, but I use my second 360 as movie station/dl stuff from marketplace kind of deal, so if I can pull this off it will be pretty cool.
I am planning of storing my movies (and other shows obtained by a phrase sounding like Vit Borrent) on this:
It will connect to my pc via USB, and it uses SATA drives for storage. My understanding is that I all I have to do is install their software; plug in the drives and whamo…psuedo NAS storage. Plus it does automatic data back up, and I do not have to mess around with ip settings or anything…
I did find out however that I will not be able to use the separate network adapter to do a true NAS function, Primarily because it does not have the capability to stream to the Xbox over my network. But Vista will have the ability to stream to the 360 via WMC (windows media center).
A big shout out to Tank for helping me understand a bunch of this stuff, if you have no life you read about it in this thread.
Now I am a little worried about having to install the 5 different programs just to be able to do what I want to do, but it is something I will just have to work through.
I will try to blog about my failures/success of my project. Maybe Phreaks on Geeks will have me back on to talk about my little project. That other Podcast would probably not want me on because they are a little to l33t for me…LOL….just busting your balls boys, keep up the good work!!!
So onto the comic titles for the past 2 weeks (pics and links via Ifanboy.com thanks!!):
Wildcats #1 (Yeah Baby the Wildcats are back, hopefully for more then 1 issue) 2 covers. Below is Cover A
Buffy The Vampire Slayer #17 (2 covers)
Fathom #1 (Can you guess why I got this titles…LOL (o) (o) )
