CB Wednesday, Teri Knee surg..Part Deux..

Double blog post whore!!! Woo Who!!!

So Teri goes in tomorrow for her second knee surgery since the fall in Costco. This one is to replace the lcl...This should be the last one and provide enough stability and strength in the knee to have a lifetime to chase around our minions. The recovery time will be just as long as the first one (which is a little weird) 4 weeks of minimal activitive (basically bed rest in an immobilizer brace) with another 2 weeks on top of that before rehab will start. Usually they will get you up next day and start to try and flex and rehad the knee, but in Teri's case, she has had such a large amount of trama in the knee, the Dr. wants to make sure the new ligament has a really good amount of time to take hold in the knee. Interesting fact...they will not be using screws to attach the ligament, they will drill into the bone and use a type of product that when it becomes solid, it actuals becomes bone, kind of cool. When I had my acl replaced they attached the ligament with some titanium screws, and that was just 14 years ago...

Anyway that is the dealio with the Mrs...

Next subject...the Chitown lan...I am telling you people, if you can squeeze it in, somehow, it is a really good time. It is cool to finally meet people you have been gaming with for the past weeks/months/years, and put a face to the voice. Or in my case the horrible, ugliness known as my face...LOL...But the getting to game/eat/drink/act like freaking styrofoam helmet wearing trolls/see things that make you want to wash your eyes with bleach is legendary...Take a look (if you already haven't) at Dsmooths blog with a picture montage (Everybody needs a Montage!!!!) of the past 3 Lans..IT IS FREAKING A GREAT TIME. Plus the more people we have go, the more cash/stuff we can give to charity.

So pinch those pennies, rob a bank, what ever just get to Chicago between August 15-17th.
