Yes..Your forge maps DO suck...

So I see everyone has been appreciating one of our newest front page articles written by the very talented Absolute Tara. I also see that is has brought out some lively discussion and out right stupidity at the same time.

If nothing else the aticle does bring up a good point. Yes, your forge map sucks. Believe it or not, just because you created something does not mean it is of the highest quality possible. Just because you are able to navigate a game menu and place odjects on a virtual space does not mean I want you designing my house.

The reality of it is this, just because you can does not mean everyone should love it or fuck, even like it. Can I appreciate that someone took the time to try something and spent hours trying the best they could, yeah I can roll with that. Does that mean I have to think it is good or I should play it days on end to show my appreciation? For the love of Crom...NO!!

I am willing to bet every piece of gaming equipment I have that only a small percentage of forge created maps are actually considered quality maps. Now I probably just struck a nerve and some of you are probably have just gone into a feverish-mindless rage and are ready to leave a witty comment that will in some way attempt to show me how enlightened you are and how wrong I am. Now let me give you the definition of a quality map.

LB's Quality map qualification:

#1 A map designed in a way that Bungie would put it on the community play list

#2 A map I would pay money for

 

So if you believe you can create a map that meets the above criteria and want to give it a shot, by all means go for it. Just do not be surprised if you failed..YES FAILED

Just because you attempted something in this lifetime does not mean it is a success. Example..

 

I have had the opportunity to meet beautiful women with large tits and attempted to have them take off their clothes, put there face down and ass up and let me bang the shit out of them. But sadly it has not worked out. Why is this? I made a spectaculat effort in getting them to scream like a banshee as my  johnson is pumping away. But sadly here are the reasons...

#1 I am fat

#2 I have no game

#3 I do not have a shit ton of money

 

But according to all the haters commenting of the front page I should have obviously been able to leave my sticky goo on the face of every girl I have talked to. Well my "everyone is a winner-just because you tried means you win-we don't keep score cause no one is a loser" dillusional people that is now how life works.

Now let me finish off this fine piece of literature (yeah it obviously is that, just because I put 20 minutes into its creation) with one more thought to contemplate.

 

Go to YouTube and I want you to watch 100 random videos. Now tell me that all the videos you watched you would pay 10 dollars for to watch at the movie theater...Yeah, I did not think so.

nice LB :lol: You make a real good point though, people our age weren't so 'pampered'. We were taught to work hard for stuff if youw anted to be successful. The gen behind us by 10 years were pampered , all this psychology bullshit started coming into parenting, no spanking yoru kid, don't yell at them blah blah blah. Now they all thing they're entitled and everything should be handed to them.

After reading this, I would hazard a guess that there are more than three reasons for your failure to score with women, sorry, beautiful women, ones with large tits, cause they're the only ones that count right?. You began this blog by inferring all that commented negatively on TDrag's article are stupid and end up by being blatantly sexist. What a cunt.

TANK has a valid point. a little bit of stereotyping, but i always say sterotypes are there for a reason.;) i think tara had good content, it just wasn't written well. it would have been fine for a blog, forum thread or something along those lines. to follow suit, just because you can write, doesn't mean you'll be a successful writter. btw...nice pics.:)

I don't have a problem with Tara's article, but I can see how people might find it offensive. Making a blank (absolute) statement is bound to ruffle feathers. Most forged maps and game types suck, but not all. Deep_NNN's map did not suck and made it in the Bungie playlist. But as the article and this blog was written, his sucked as well. I agree about the pics, can we have more.

I am the perfect of example of someone that should not have an article posted based on my writing skills. @RedEye Oh no!! The pics I posted are an example, but not the only examples of what I consider beautiful. Good job at proving the adage of "you know what happens when you assume" Basically it comes down to this. People are reacting as if she said all forge maps suck, even after posting a link siting examples to the contrary. As it has been stated you are entitled to an opinion, but it does not mean you have an opinion that has any Merritt.

Nope. The chances are very strong that your Forge maps suck. That goes for everyone, and even their 3 or 12th idea for even a good map designer.

i think everyone should keep in mind that tara was trying heat things up a little. give some people some inspiration to prove her wrong. her method just turned out to be a little to effective. none the less, it did work. i know of quite a few peeps hell bent on proving her wrong. lol
