Ass a sin?

Can anyone make an argument for Assassin's Creed? Good or bad, I want to hear what people have to say. All of the reviews have had me on the fence for this one for quite a while. Is it all eye-candy? Are the lukewarm reviews by journalists right on the money? Is there anything redeeming about the gameplay? I keep seeing all the hype about the sequel and quite honestly, it has made me curious about the original.

I had a lot of fun with the game. The story is rather weak, but the gameplay is fun...that is, until it becomes overly repetative. It does, there is no denying that. However, that is mitigated with the fact that you eventually become one major badass, and taking on 20 guys at once just never gets old IMHO. :)

I agree with Balek. the game can get a little repetative, but it's still a ton of fun IMO. If you can find it used, then it's definately money well spent.

Very repetative, played about 1/2 way thru and never played again. The first few scenes are very cool.

I rented it twice, but didn't buy it. It was better than splinter cell double agent. An interesting stealth mechanic, highly detailed environments, but repetitive gameplay and shitty A.I. Rent it, rent the sequel when it comes out.
