So the other night in class the instructor asked if any of us had ever done work in a sewage treatment plant. None of us had, so he went on to explain to us that sewage treatment plants are the most technologically advanced part of any municipality. How can you not be fascinated by an industry that can turn poop-water into water that is more pure than the stuff you get out of your tap? Well, he went on to explain his fascination with the engineered microbial creatures that feast on all the "crap" that flows into a sewage plant. Not only are there little tiny poop-eaters, there are also little animals that eat chemicals and such. So as the instructor waxes poetic about his amazement with "these little animals" the funny Colombian guy with his thick Colombian-Spanish accent blurts out,

"Hey! You know thee Chupacabara?"

We lost it. From industrial uses for microscopic biology to cryptozoology with no obvious connection. F-ing hilarious.
