Most of us have discored over the last week that this isn't really a sequal but more of an expansion. That is OK with me though because it is quite a good expansion. They have kept everything that was great with the original R6V and added some nice improvements. The sprint function has to be one of the best improvements. Anyone who played the original R6V knew how difficult it was to get away and not die when some threw a grenade at you. Let's face it......It wasn't difficult. It was impossible. Once you heard that grenade land next to you there was no chance of getting away. Several times last night while I was playing people would toss grenades at me and I was able to sprint away and take cover. On the flip side of that it certainly makes hitting someone with a grenade a lot more challenging. The sprint function has also changed the pace of the game. Personally I found the original R6V to be a bit slow at times when playing online. The pace now sits comfortably in between the pace of the original and the pace of COD4.
The other new feature that I like is the improved ranking up and XP system. I love how you can rank up your character in all game types (SP, MP and Terrorist Hunt). Another great aspect of the ranking up system is being able to track your progress. Maybe it is just me but I like being able to monitor my progress and know exactly how far I am to reaching the next level or rank. There are also a pile of new maps with plenty of places to hide and take cover. Overall I am very impressed with R6V2 and will be enjoying this game for some time to come.
