Shared on Wed, 04/30/2008 - 13:38The fanatic midnight release of GTA IV has come and gone and by now most people that wanted to pick up the game have done so. For the record I wasn't one of the people that attended the midnight release. Don't get my wrong though....my inner game nerd was screaming at me to be there. Having to work the next day and the fact that I would have most likely played the entire night through to the morning held me back from attending. As a result, I picked it up the next day when stores opened. That made my day at work on Tuesday extremely tough. Sitting at my desk with a copy of GTA IV staring back at me all day begging to be played was difficult to say the least.
When I finally did get home I wasn't disappointed. I started out with the SP campaign and as I played everything was delivered as promised. The anticipation of what I expected was actually met and surpassed as I wondered around the city. I didn't get much done in the SP campaign because I was so captivated by Liberty City. I found myself just driving around, taking in the sights and seeing what I could discover about my new playground. With realistic day and night cycles, the city actually feels alive. If you were to stop and listen you would swear that you could hear Liberty City inhale and exhale. It didn't take long before I got an invite to join up on live for MP mayhem. And mayhem it was. Driving around with 3 gun toting friends hanging out the window and causing trouble has never been so much fun. I was actually giddy with how much trouble you can cause and I only got to play one MP type (Team Deathmatch). Needless to say I can't wait to return to Liberty city tonight and see what fun I can get into. See you in Liberty City.
