Shared on Wed, 07/30/2008 - 13:36It was a year ago this time that I made the decision to leap into the next generation of gaming and picked up an Xbox 360. Oh what a year it has been! Over the last year I have enjoyed Gears of War, Halo 3, COD4, RSV1/2, GRAW2, The Orange Box, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed and many others. That doesn't even include any of the PS3 titles that I enjoyed when I picked up my black beast 4 months ago (MGS4 I'm looking at talking about you). A year into this current generation of gaming I am still enjoying all of these titles just as much as I did when I first got them. I may put down one of my favorites for a few months but I always seem to come back to it and when I do I find it just as enjoyable all over again. Lately I have been playing a lot of C&C: Tiberiums Wars and Gears of War.
As the summer starts to wind down the new releases seem to thin down to a trickle and I can't help but think of the ride I started one year ago. If I learned anything from last year it is that this will pick back up at the beginning of September for the start of the commercial holiday season. The fall and early winter looked pack with great titles and I can hardly wait. Until then it looks like it is more of the same and that is just fine with me.
