What Sex is Your Japanese Game Hero?

There is a certain oddness to part of the japanese game scene since Sony entered and the PS2 later with better graphics. Graphics, depsite what the "r u a graphix hore?" person would ask, graphics allow a greater from of expression.----- Final Fanatsy (once it hit Sony systems) and the likes would probably be more appealing if the androgeny was left out. Another strange thing, is most of these characters are not portrayed as asian, yet the design comes from japan and although more popular in japan, sell well in the US within a specific niche. Some adults buy them. Yeah, I like sushi and saki...but I dont buy anything from Square. I dont watch anime like its the only form of media. Whos the MGS4 character in the suit...she is a candidate for breast enlargement...oh shit, thats a guy. I have no problem playing a woman, I have no problem playing a male character that is not your avatar for macho greatness. Take Gordan Freeman. Nerd, scientist, hero. All that and he doesnt: wear make up, lack any hint of facial hair at an implied mature age, and maintain a girls hairstyle at all times.------ Went from intelligent to just a rant but, Im trying to make a point. What is the motivation behind this? Does me questioning it warrant the typical, "youre a homophobe" repsonse? Is this weirdness to cover up lack of substance? The whole thing is just.....very odd.
