I will be on the TF2 server more often now.  There is one minor problem with the MSI motherboard.  It has tons of LEDS on it so the case glows at the vents.

TF2 runs great, 80+ fps.  Ahhhhh. I was getting sick of 25fps.  I can not get the UT3 demo to run smoothly though, even after turning down textures and world detail.  COD4 looks good on PC, but it is the same as on 360.  Weird thing is I prefer it on the 360.  While I can snipe better on the PC it just feels like a console game.  Crysis demo tonight.

Then I bog the system down by installing Visual Studio, SQL Server, and Office.  XNA 2.0 should be coming out soon.  I think I will make a multiplayer cribbage game.

UT3 doesn't run smoothly? Join the club. I'm waiting for a patch.

XNA2 has DirectPlay back in it, or is it a new API?

Wow...that's kinda bullshit. They're effectively forcing you into using the GFW service. I'm liking the steam platform more and more every day.

Yeah, but it makes sense. The purpose of XNA is for cheap development on the 360.

Meanwhile they leave DirectX sitting in a pile of smoldering ashes...way to help "steer" the development community M$...if/when I get back into game dev I'm going back to OpenGL.

Does the 360 use DirectX? I think the fact that the games cna be played on Windows is a perk. The focus is on making 360 games. So they have to be able to run on 360. If there is no directx on the 360 then that makes sense. You don't need xna to create a windows game.
