Shared on Tue, 04/15/2008 - 15:28It's spring time, so I talk about motorcycles a lot now that I can finally ride after 5 months of winter.
Took my motorcycle to the shop last night, we'll see what they say. The ride there was great. The only issue with the bike is getting it started. Once started it runs great.
Here's what I might get next year. However, there is a problem with the pic. The pic is a screenshot from Polaris's build a bike. The Kingpin 8ball has very little chrome.
Here's a stock Kingpin 8ball from polaris's gallery. As you see there is more blacked out parts than the build a bike shows. They need to fix their build a bike program. As you can see all I added was the black sweeping exhausts, saddlebags, 2up seat with rack, black headlight, and windshield. I'd probably get an aftermarket tinted windshield though.
You know what's cool about this bike, it's American made and not a Harley. I like Harley bike but I don't like the company. I have nothing against non-American bikes. I have owned a 1974 Suzuki TS185, a 1978 Kawasaki KZ400, and currently a 2000 Yamaha VStar classic. I like anything on 2 wheels. However, I'd rather support a local brand if possible, but I am also picky about looks, features, and comfort. For those that don't know Victorys are made in Minnesota by Polaris. Their first generation bikes were Harley knockoffs. Wise decision if you want to start a motorcycle company. But for the last couple of years they have been discontinuing those first gen bikes and now have their own look.
I've test drove a Victory every year they've been out because if you test drive one you get a t-shirt. Here's one I drove 3 years ago.
