Netflix

I have had netflix for several years now.  When I live din Oshkosh I was sending the DVDs to Milwaukee.  When I lived in Viroqua I was sending them to Minneapolis.  Normally I would put them in the mail on monday and get the next batch by thursday.  Now that I live in St Paul, holy crap it is fast.  I put my last movie in the mail yesterday, I am getting the next movie tomorrow.  I may hav to jump down to the 1 disc at a time otherwise I am going to burn through my queue too quickly.

I would love to move back to Blockbuster now that they do movies and games over mail.  I liked blockbuster.  The only reason I switched was the streaming on Netflix.  That's the only thing keeping me on Netflix.  Blockbuster's website is much better - it is easier to find new releases, what's coming out in the next week, what's popular, etc...

I have Crib notes for the series if you need them. Its actually just a pop up book, but it came with 3d glasses in the collector's edition, so it was well worth the 50 bucks. I'm still waiting for the sequels to Seven... must be stuck on the title names.

I signed up when it first came out. I only had it for about two days before I cancelled it because there were zero movies that I wanted to see available for streaming. I got an email saying they were going to send me a random DVD since I hadn't put anything in that queue, but I guess I cancelled it before they sent it or something. It's worth signing up just to see if they have any movies/tv shows available that you might like, but I was underwhelmed. It was extremely easy to cancel though.

It works pretty well. You would have to give a CC # to sign up for the trial but just make sure to cancel if you do not wish to continue their service. The selection is ok. There aren't a lot of newer movies but there are a lot of tv series up to date and plenty of movies. Its pretty worth it even if you just sign up for the 1 DVD at a time membership

I guess I should've answered your questions too....you do have to give them a credit card, but they didn't charge me since I cancelled it. And I thought the streaming quality was pretty nice. Pretty much the same as downloading a movie over XBL marketplace. Terrible streaming movie selection though, IMHO.

I like it, don't use it a ton, but atleast a few times per month. We get our moneys worth but we use the dvd too. Quality is good where I live as far as the digital stream, but I have heard some people can't get a good enough stream for it to be worth watching.

We already had Netflix before the XBL add on. To be honest, I only tried the streaming once just to be sure it worked since it didn't cost anything extra. Right now their whole movie and TV selection is not available for streaming, but they are adding new stuff all the time. So, even if you don't care for what they have out now, check on them again in the future. One thing that sucks is that Sony won't allow any of its movies to be shown via Xbox. Petty.

In my area I only have DSL 1.5 meg and it makes the video quality worse than youtube... then upscale it to a 60" tv and it is un-watchable. There are alot of TV series you can watch, movie selection is pretty slim.

This site lists what is on it, so you can decide for yourself: http://instantwatcher.com/ Personally, I like watching The Tick, Dead Like Me, and the Monty Python Flying Circus stuff, but it really depends on what you're into. You won't find anything really new on it, but it does carry a lot of stuff from Starz.

Blockbuster's game selection stinks like crazy, though. When I checked a few months ago they had release dates of several months behind the actual street date of the game. Might be better now, but that was an immediate cancellation for me since all the stuff they had available to send was a year old or more.

I'm getting decent use outta it. Older movies and tv shows mostly. For that cheapa price I figured might as well give it a go.
