Parents, does this worry you?

I hate websites that don't have email verification.  As many of you know my real name is Kevin Jonas and I use to use the email address of kevinjonas@gmail.com.  Because of the Jonas Brothers I no longer do that.  You would be surprised at how many people use that address to sign up for stuff on websites.  You would be even more surprised at how many websites aimed at younger people do no have email verification.

I check that email from once and awhile because it can be the source of a good laugh.  But I am noticing more and more there are social websites that do not have email verification.  When I get an email verification on that address I don't respond sot he account isn't verfied.  Many sites that are aimed for kids require a parent's email address also and the parents also have to verify - I see that once and awhile.  However, some sites don't do crap.

One such site is FooPets.com.  It's like a virtual pet social website.  There was no verification email, I just started seeing emails of what the user was doing.  I logged in as the user and changed the email address in the profile.  Guess what, apparently that doesn't mean anything.  I still get emails of the actions that user does.  So time to contact support.  The problem here is there is no support links on foopets.com.  I have to do a domain whois to see who owned foopets.com. I found out foomojo.com owns it and they have support links.  So now we will see what happens.

But parents, doesn't this worry you that there are sites like this that have no verification?
