Shared on Fri, 02/08/2008 - 04:25I didn't mention it before, but I've got my driving test booked for next Friday. It's just after 9.30 in the morning, and I'll go out for an hour with my instructor before it. I'm pretty nervous about it, although I know I do have the ability to pass first time, one of my failings is that I tend to let my concentration drift towards the end of my lessons, and I'm prone to making silly, small mistakes. Still, it's booked now, so there's no point in worrying too much about it now.
Because I've been doing a couple of extra lessons, I've not had as much time to get any painting or gaming done over the past few nights. I plan on putting the finishing touches to my Death Guard tonight and tomorrow morning. Games Workshop have completely changed their Mail Order system recently, meaning you can't order individual components from models now, which sucks in large amounts. Much of the community is in an uproar as the idea flies in the face of the way the company have done business in the past, and is pretty much guaranteed to make it harder to put together interesting, individualised conversions.
What this means for me is that I can't pick up the jump packs I was wanting for my Raptors, so I'll be forced to make some up myself. I've found a really good tutorial here, which looks straight forward enough, I'll just need to wait until payday to get the materials together, and pray I don't hack a finger off in the process.
Also, my new column is up, go check it out and leave multiple comments about how insightful I am, and how I deserve a full salary so I can stay home andscratch myself write full-time.
