This morning howeve, I skipped it and decided to walk to the office to get a little exercise. Turns out it was a good idea.
I was a little way along the path to the office when a guy behind me stopped me and asked for directions to a company that I drew a complete blank on. I reassured him that, yes, he was in the right place and that this side of the station was the business/commercial park, and the other side was all industrial businesses. He mentioned the name of the company he was looking for, but I drew a blank on it. I apologised, and started walking again.
Five seconds later, it hits me that I do know the place he's looking for, and that I used to walk past it on the way to my previous office every damnded morning. I won't lie - it wasn't evening nine in the morning, I was very tired, it's cold and foggy (still), and for a brief moment the idea entered into my head to keep my mouth shut and just keep walking. The notion passed almost as soon as it arrived, and I turned back to the guy and gave him directions to the place, which actually happened to be away over the other sied of the train station, amongst the industrial area that I had assured him wasn't likely to be the place he was looking for. There's no way he would have found it himself.
So, that was my good deed for today. Let's see if it pays off.
