So, I'm thinking of leaving work next year and going to University, full-time.

Strathclyde University in Glasgow offers a degree in Journalism & Creative Writing, which I am considering applying for next year.

There's a couple of things that will need to fall into place before I can go ahead and do it however, chief among them is the issue of fees. If I am still eligible to have my fees paid, then eveything should be gravy. The reason I'm not sure about that is because I sat an HNC in Computing back in 2000/2001, and I might have had my fees paid for me then. I can't really remember, because I wasn't paying a lot of attention at the time, due to me not planning on going to Uni at all at the time.

I'm reasonably confident that it was my then-employer that paid my fees, but unfortunatley I'm not 100% on it. I'm checking with the public body that governs the paying of Higher Education fees, so hopefully they'll be able to advise one way or the other. A friend of mine at time actually went to the local college and sat an HNC in Business Administration, and he had already been to University before, so that's why I'm confident.

I'm struggling not to get my hopes up, or get too excited, but th more I think about it, the more I can feel my stomach turning with anticipation. I'll write some more over the next couple of days about the course itself, and what I'd need to do for us to get by while I was there.

I wish I could afford to quit working. I am back in school full time as well, but I am still working full time too. It can be a brutal schedule at times.
