Old Journal Entry

It looks like some friends and I are going to get together and see if we can't get a Dark Heresy campaign going. We've all been fans of 40K for a long time, we actually all met at the 40K club I used to run in my home town. It feels like it's been forever since we met up, so I fired off an email and suggested that we hook up and see what happens.

So, I've pulled out an old notebook/journal that I used to use back when the club was still running, to get some ideas out of it - a setting for the campaign that I'd worked on originally for use in some Inquisitor games, or as a setting for me to write some fan fiction about. It's typical of my notebooks - it's crammed with hastily scribbled character concepts for various RPGs, ideas for terrain pieces, story ideas, quotes and lines I've thought of or heard somewhere and thought might be good enough to use at a later date.

There's also a fair bit of nigh-emo ranting in there, whihc made me lol heartily when I read it this morning, and I thought that as it was well past time I blogged here, that I'd share it with y'all. Enjoy.

"At the train station yesterday, there was a group of kids - half goth, half 'skate punk' - one of then had an accoustic guitar out and was sitting there strumming away, looking very pleased with himself, with a superios smirk plastered all over his face.

I felt like walking up to him and saying, "Congratulations on being able to string together a couple of chords together, I'm sure that must have been a real accomplishment, and kudos on making a bold statement about your identity and individuality by dressing exactly the same as all your friends. Unfortunately, some of us have held a right cunt of a day, and the last thing we need right now is your atonal twanging pissing us of even more."

Instead I just jammed my iPod headphones in my ears, cranked up the volume and shuffled even farther down the platform."
