So, it's been a while - how are you getting on?

Things are proceeding in much the same way as usual on my end. As I mentioned last time, our Bankruptcy and Sequestration are now formal, legal and binding. For those of you interested in the inner workings of Bankruptcy in Scotland, the website of the Accountant in Bankruptcy has some fascinating publications worth reading - I would wholeheartedly recommend AiB1 and AiB8 for those of you needing some help sleeping tonight.

Well, I have started driving lessons, and I'm terrible. I did really well on my first two lessons, my clutch control is fantastic apparently, and the instructor took some persuadng that I hadn't driven at all, so I think I let myself get a bit big-headed. I had my third lesson on Monday night there, and it brought me right back down Earth with a bump. I'm struggling with figuring out which pedals I should be hitting at which times, and find myself breaking when I should be bringing the clutch down, and accelerating when I should be relying on the clutch pedal. I'm struggling to get the hang of where the gears are - I kept jumping from 1st right up to 3rd or 4th - although the actual changing of the gears wasn't too hard itself. Also, when I changed gears, I had a tendency to let the steering swing off to the right, which was embarassing, and potentially quite dangerous. So, I felt pretty bummed out on Monday night after the lesson.  I suppose it did me good to have a bad night so early on, so that I didn't get carried away with myself and start thinking I was going to fly through the course.
I jutsify my failure on the grounds that Monday had been a bad day anyway - I'd been dropping things and tripping over myself all day, later in the evening I stood on a plug, which threw me into a wannabe-Hulk-like rage.

I'm mulling over a few things to post a lengthy...post...about. Have I mentioned in the past that I'm a big Prince fan? I don't think so, and I think I might have a bash at getting down some thoughts about that subject.  Or I may post something about my current thoughts towards WoW and my guild. Either way, it should be fun. Kinda.

A few years back my wife and I toured Ireland.I hadn't driven a stick in years and the driver is on the right side of Euro-mobiles.Plus,Dublin is almost all one way streets. So I had to drive on the other side of the car,on the other side of the street, and I had to shift with my left hand. I know how you feel.Gets much easier with time,'til it's second nature.Good luck.

I have to admit it is a little amusing to think someone over 20 hasn't learned to drive. That is really considered a right of passage for our 16 year olds. Don't give up, you will get the coordination for a manual machine. It will come naturally after practice.
